History
|
| Originally chartered
in 1951, Troop 733 is one of the older Troops in the Baltimore Area
Council. It was sponsored by the Winfield Elementary School until
1966 when sponsorship was assumed by the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department.
The Fire Department has been our Chartering Organization since 1966.

Program
|
| The Troop is
operated within the guidelines of the National Council of the Boy
Scouts of America. Program emphasis is on outdoor activities, and
at least twelve days and nights of camping are available to Scouts
during the year. |
| |
Membership
|
| Membership
in the troop is open to all boys within the age limits prescribed
by the National Council, regardless of race, creed, or national origin. |
| |
Meetings
|
| Troop
meetings are held each Wednesday evening and begin promptly at 7:30
PM. When the Scouts arrive, they should begin preparing for the program
and opening ceremony. In the event that Carroll County Public Schools
have either closed for the day, or have closed early due to inclement
weather, there will be no meeting on that day. Meetings will end at
9:00 PM. |

Uniforms
|
|
All Scouts are
encouraged to obtain an official Scout uniform. Our local distributor
of Scout uniforms is Sunny's Surplus on Rt 140 in Westminster. Uniforms
may also be ordered from the Scout Catalog or can be purchased at
the BAC Scout Shop (located in the Scout Service Center at 701 Wyman
Park Drive, Baltimore), Frederick Schwinn (Frederick), and several
other Sunny's Surplus Stores throughout the area. There are many
places where used uniforms may be obtained for a nominal fee. If
assistance is needed in locating or purchasing the uniform, please
see either the Scoutmaster or Committee Chairman.
Uniforms are
to be worn at each Troop meeting, unless otherwise notified. The
definition of a meeting is from 7:30 PM until after the Scoutmasters
Benediction at 9:00 PM. Tennis Shoes are acceptable.
The uniform
should be worn as follows for special Scouting events:
- Complete
uniform (shirt, neckerchief, slide, hat, belt, socks, pants or
shorts) and leather shoes, either black or brown. Tennis shoes
are generally not acceptable.
- Outings:
Proper dress will depend on the type of event. Weather should
be considered
